Ridgefield, CT Worth the trip for amazing organic greens. Buy a weeks worth in one trip from their self-serve farm stand. They produce nearly year-round in hoop houses, and definitely stop in to tour the beautifully landscaped grounds and wild rice fields. Noteworthy: amazingly flavorful, fresh harvested mustard greens, kale, leeks, varieties of radishes, basil, parsley, herbs, beautiful head and leaf lettuces

Ridgefield, CT If you are headed to Ridgefield, stock up on bulk items from Nature’s Temptations extensive bulk bin offerings. Try something from Liz’s deli or the juice bar while you are there, and be sure to ask Dre any supplement questions you have, she’s a storehouse of information and very helpful.Great juice bar, hot food bar, soups, deli and supplement section as well. Noteworthy: Extensive bulk department for economic and unique varieties of rice, beans, oats, whole grains and nuts. Mostly organic. Produce is organic. Usually stocks fresh young coconuts, which can be ordered by the case. Raw milk special orders.

North Salem, NY Organic produce direct from the farm every week: Ryder Farm Cottage Industries has included more growing land this year and is accepting more CSA members than in previous years. Bedford Hills TABLE Local Market specializes in regionally produced foods, but not on organic. You have to ask about each item if you want food that is produced without pesticides/herbicides, but all products are as local as they can find. Much of the produce is from local farms, the meats are from various regional producers and the cheeses are from NY. Noteworthy: Cave-aged NY cheeses made with milk from grass-fed cows, excellent quality. The only local source for Eco-Products compostable serving ware.
