Heather Flournoy started KatonahGreen.com in 2008 after the 98% organic “Organic Connection Market and Cafe” closed its doors. She started blogging as a way to carry on the relationships and enthusiasm that had developed among the customers of the store who share her dedication to health, the environment, and community.
KatonahGreen now has over 1,400 local readers, and Heather leads a sustainable living Meetup group that has regular educational meetup events, and monthly organic potlucks: The Katonah Green and Beyond Meetup Group.
Heather Flournoy is a grassroots marketing expert, a community organizer, event planner and a social media strategist, and partner in Really Social Strategies along with Christopher Roberts. Her intuitive and empathetic nature, enthusiasm and passion, combined with marketing and business development skills, make her an invaluable resource for your green, holistic or community-oriented business endeavor.
She has been living the organic and sustainable lifestyle for over forty years (ouch, really? already?) She is passionate about life, people, stories, animals (especially horses, dogs and cats), food, healing, nature, and her family. She has been a horse trainer for over twenty years, and focuses on helping horses to communicate with their people. She lives in Katonah, NY with her daughter Anna, her cat Clawdius, and her pony Jack.
She is a member of the Town of Lewisboro Sustainability Committee, the Katonah Chamber of Commerce social media task group, and Slow Food Westchester’s social media team, and promotes local food infrastructure development by speaking to local groups, writing this blog, and promoting local farmer’s markets.
