Green Happenings this Weekend, April 18 & 19

This Saturday is supposed to be beautiful in northern Westchester, so get out early and spend the day celebrating spring and the planet!

Visit the blog at and take a look at the calendar on the left hand side for more details on this weekend’s events. You should check back each week to see what ‘green’ events are happening in our area!

There are a lot of options this weekend in the area to support ‘green’ developments. Two stores whose philosophis are based on supporting local agriculture are opening! Isn’t that fantastic? Let’s give them our support and help them as they strive to develop the financial infrastructure that our region needs in order to produce its own organic produce, grass-fed meats, dairy, eggs, medicinal herbs and grains.

Table Local Market will be holding it’s grand opening in Bedford Hills at the same time as Green Chimney’s Country Store opens in Brewster. Don’t worry! You can make it to both, and still have time to stop in at South Salem Farmer’s Market in between!

Sunday you can attend the Westchester Earth Day Celebration at Kensico Dam. You’ll see the county’s veg fueled vehicles and there are some great give-aways too.

If you happen to take any great pictures at any of these events, please send them to me!

Happy Earth Day!
